Osama - Martyr or ...?

Martyr
a person who is put to death or endures great suffering on behalf of any belief, principle, or cause: a martyr to the cause of social justice.

What makes a person a terrorist? Who defines a terrorist? To a group of people, a person could be called a terrorist for doing the things he do (mostly, something that causes extreme trouble n fatalities) but to him (the so-called terrorist), he is merely doing an act of self-defense or protection. I don't mean that I approve of terrorist acts of any form. Everything could be settled peacefully (hahaa.. what a laugh).

The death of Osama Bin Laden, was rejoiced by many in the world. The end of terror and the beginning of a more peaceful world (or so they say). I'm at crossroads trying to figure out whose side i should be in. The Americans or the Al-Qaedah. To say i support the Americans, will be just wrong as Osama was and forever will be remembered as the great Islamic Martyr. Fighting for the the cause of Islam and his own principles. Though i salute him for his bravery and camaraderie, i still think (this is only on my personal opinion), that he fought it wrong. The killing of innocents should never be allowed and suicide bombings should never be an option. Not that i'm well versed in the holy Quran, but i know that suicide is never an option is Islam.

To support the Americans, now, i don't even dare say it here actually, coz i know that just by saying what i said, would be a big no-no is my community. So can i say i'm neutral?

What gains is there from suicide bombings? Innocent by-standers dead? And then what? You get your point straight through the media. Loud and clear. And then where does that get you? In deeper shit then you think you are. Now, when Christians (or Jews or whatever religion there is in this world) think of Islam, the first image that conjures are the killings, dead bodies, suffering etc. Again, this is my opinion solely, shouldn't we portray the image off peace and calmness? Isn't that what is taught in the holy Quran? FYI, even we sometimes are afraid when we bumped into those pious religious men on the streets. They somehow seem very intimidating.

Back to the topic of martyrs and the death of Osama. Will his death really bring peace? Wallahualam.. But I seriously doubt it. They will just replace him and the circle continues.

Al-Fatihah to the late Osama bin Laden. A great Islamic Martyr
