Skim Rumah Pertamaku - I LOIKE! But where?

The government has done well with the Skim Rumah Pertamaku. Kudos! To all yang dah kawin, or about to be married, this scheme is really a welcoming one.. Especially for those yang memang dah lame berhajat nak beli rumah tapi tak gak termampu because of the ridiculously high living expenses in KL ni.

Bukan taknak beli rumah, siape yang nak dok menyewa je kan? Every month kluar duit, but at the end of the day, the house is not ours. How sad. But try saving up and with meager salaries, i betcha, it'll take many many many years or sometimes never to get a place of your own.
Try calculating this;

Mase grad gaji tak seberape. Mane nak bayar duit kereta, duit sewa rumah, duit minyak, duit makan etc. Tu belum lagi nak bayar study loan (sampai skang aku tak bayar smp dah kene blacklisted by PTPTN). So sigh.. Macam ni nak saving? Memang tak lah jawabnyer.. Nak nafas pun tercunggap-cunggap. Then, maybe after a coupla years, dapat lah better paying job. Ingat better income, better life, tapi semua payments rotate. So starts the vicious cycle. To add to that, dah nak kawin pulak...
So, that's a rough picture of what it takes to be a city dweller living on fishmonger's paycheck. Skarang ni, with this scheme, leh lah merase kan? At least bayar bulan2 pun akhirnya, the title to the deed is on our name. Tak ker best?

As all other schemes in the world, there is the pros and cons. See it this way, the scheme gets you something you dream of albeit the many things not so pretty.

PROs
1. Get to buy your own home
2. 100% loan applicable

CONs
1. House must not be more than RM220,000
2. Single borrower earning not more than RM3k/month
3. Try searching for a house in Klang Valley priced RM220,000 or lower. It's next to impossible.
